Salman Khan parts ways with director David Dhawan

Mumbai: Once touted as best friends, Salman Khan and David Dhawan seem to have hit a rough patch. The director actor duo, Salman and David, who in the past have belted several hits like 'Partner', 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi', 'Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge', 'Biwi No 1' and 'Judwaa', have now turned bitter enemies and it’s all owing to Sallu’s inexplicable mood swings.

Even though David Dhawan has given Salman some of the biggest hits of his career, the actor has doubts about his directorial skills as he recently single handedly got him sacked from an esteemed project.

Buzz has it that producer Sajid Nadiadwala was all set to bring David Dhawan on board to direct the remake of the South film Kick, titled Sanki in Hindi, till Salman intervened. The actor reportedly refused to work in the flick if Dhawan was to hold the directorial reins.

Confirming the news, a daily quoted a source as saying, “Sajid has got the rights of the Telugu super hit Kick and has finalised Salman to star in it. Sajid spoke to David Dhawan to direct the film but when Salman heard that David was being considered, he flatly refused to be a part of Sajid’s film. He is not keen to work with David and wants somebody else to direct the remake.”

As to what caused the rift, the source adds, “Salman is upset with David for several reasons. He really wanted Partner 2 to take off soon but there is no sign of the film from David’s end. On the contrary, David went ahead to direct Hook Ya Crook with John Abraham, who Salman can’t stand.”
